I think Gitex will collapse in less than 3 years due to many factors
1- organizers ( DWTC ) are not willing or capable of understanding clients requirements
2- DWTC tend to focus only in generating more revenue without giving a real value for their clients and thought that because GITEX was sold out for 1 or 2 years that everyone is forced to come to Gitex
3- The Managing Director " Al Marie " of DWTC commented on the non participation of Microsoft that " they don't have any new technology so they didn't participate" this clearly reflect the mentality of the GITEX management
3- the organizers lack the basics of show management, there is no directional signs, info kiosk, information on web, mobile ... etc to no way to compare it to big shows like Cebit
4- the fees are increased every year and the service is shrinking year after year , simply you don't get anything against the entrance fees ( 11 US$ / day or 31 US$ / 5 days ) parking is charged @ 2US$/ hour and it is impossible to find, no way to find a seat in any of the poorly served restaurants or cafes plus you waste 2 hours just to get to any nearby parking area.
5- Weak advertising & media campaign.

this year the lost Microsoft & Intel in addition to many others I also heard that Oracle will withdraw next year, and this will be the beginning of the end
