Skype and Intel today announced plans for Internet-based voice and video communications. Specifically, engineers from the two companies will collaborate on optimizing Skype 2.0 (beta) for use with Intel's dual-core processor systems, including Centrino Duo (laptop) and Pentium D (desktop) PCs. Intel and Skype also hope to tighten integration with Intel's new Viiv technology.
