Iran's Internet Connection Speed

Second News: Internet connection's speed in Europe countries is 3x faster than Iran's internet connection speed. But is it faster only 3x or more?! We don't have even an stable dial-up connection, let DSL and WiFi connections alone! Who asked for a fast connection? Please provide a simple 56k connection then we can discuss on broadband connections.

Lock your front door

Peter's sentence is perfect on the Windows vs Linux war:

"A lot of people like to say inane things like "Linux is more secure than Windows," which is a bunch of crap.
A linux machine that is not taken care of is insecure. A Windows machine that is not taken care of is insecure. A BSD system that is not taken care of is insecure.
If you don't lock your front door, don't complain when someone breaks into your house."

That's it! You can't compare them.

A Datacenter with 150+310Mb Backbone

You remember I talked about a plan for establishing a local datacenter in Iran? They claim, because most of website's visitors are from Iran, we can make a local datacenter and move most of hosts traffics to it because other countires are not secure for us and we can't have control on our servers over there. Though we have and we all are working same, and no one got a server in his own home anywhere all around the world, but assume that what these people say is true. But how can they do this using 150+310Mb backbone? I told you that connections has become too slow last two days in Iran, you know why? Because the 310Mb backbone has been dropped! So simply, now assume that such thing happens for their imaginative datacenter. Can you think how much companies should pay again to bring their users back to their websites? Please think more on what you say, do think then reflection!

We were in trouble!

VeriSign Shutting Down Site Finder

According to Slashdot, they will be shutting down their new site finder. That's good!

Please read this aloud!

I have talked about Linux vs Windows nightmare with many people and lastly I found an article which talks about what I am saying! Please don't say: "Because Linux is more secure, I will use it from now and on." Linux is good, because it is another operating system, because it is open source, because it is mostly free, because it could (You think it can anymore?) run on weak hardwares. Some major parts of this article. Via The Scobleizer Weblog.

"Linux was the most-attacked online server operating system in August, according to a report from mi2g, a digital risk assessment company based in London. In August, 67% of all overt digital attacks targeted Linux. Windows received 23.2% of the attacks."

"But despite Linux being the target of the majority of overt, or known, digital attacks, virus attacks on Windows caused much greater financial damage."

You think why the later one happens? Because Windows is used more, not because Windows is more unsecure, please distinguish these two.

''Linux isn't more or less secure than Microsoft, in the respect that it's certainly possible to create viruses and worms that target Linux and to initiate intrusion attacks against Linux,'' says Chris Belthoff, a senior analyst at Sophos, Inc., an anti-virus company based in Lynnfield, Mass."

''If there is a market shift and more Linux is out there, it's almost a certainty that you'll have more malicious code targeting that platform. It simply would meet the virus writers' needs.''

"But as Linux goes more and more corporate, Woolley thinks all bets will be off. And Robert Richardson, editorial director of the Computer Security Institute, says IT managers who switch to Linux to avoid the virus attacks on Windows may be in for a surprise."

What do you want to say?

Just read this once yourself. What does this cute man mean? Should we wait for the iranian data center with lastly 100Mbps connection? Have you ever though of its over load? Do we have good hardware as what we have outside Iran? Do we have enough technical engineers so they can handle router traffics? Please open your eyes and see that our ISPs can't handle 500 simultaneous connections! Then what are you talking about?
